Monopaulize Challenge: Day 2
Here goes update for Day 2!
What Time Did I Get Up
I got up at 5:35 am this morning. Just like the first day, I did not snooze the alarm and instead got up, and went straight into the shower. I only managed to get 5.5 hours of sleep last night so I woke up feeling pretty tired. As a result instead on spending 2 hours on achieving my goals just before I leave for work, I was only able to dedicate 1 hour today for the lack of focus.
What Did I Accomplish Today
Yesterday, the goal I had set out for myself were:
1) Finish up 3 of the remaining 5 parts of my article. In other words, research and write another 1,500 words for my site’s homepage. This will be challenging and let’s see how well I perform in tomorrow’s update…..who knows, I might actually exceed my expectations!
2) Listen to one podcast or read one blog post related to online business to gain some inspiration.
Write 1,500 words? Check!
Read one blog post? Check!
In fact, I researched and wrote a total of 2,273 words today so I’m down to the last 800 words or so for this main article. Then I need to start proof reading it…..more on that later.
I also read TWO inspiration blog posts today; I did this whenever I got tired of writing!
I spent about 40 minutes in the morning reading and gathering some information I needed to continue writing my main article. I probably spent another 5.5 hours throughout the rest of the day to do the same task. In total, this amounts to about 6 hours of time.
What I Learned
Waking up early is really challenging since I’m more of a night person. In college, it would not be unusual for me to study and work towards the wee hours of the morning – usually till 1 or 2 am. I have been very unproductive in the morning and I felt extremely exhausted for a significant portion of the day. Maybe I’m just really not a morning person. I’ll stick with this for the days I have to get to work and see how it goes!
What Was Challenging
I’ve gotten a little better and quickly researching information that I need to write an article. Something that I thought was challenging was the fact that I had to push myself pretty hard to stay focus on today’s goals and continue researching and writing.
Yes, I did reach the goals I set out yesterday, but I’ll have to see how well I’ve written when I start proofreading the main article.
Goals for Tomorrow
Tomorrow is July 3rd, which means I’ll get the day off for July 4th which falls on a Saturday this year! I will look to NOT set an alarm and try sleeping in. Hopefully I’ll feel much fresher and sharper tomorrow to help me work more efficiently.
Goals for tomorrow include:
1) Finish writing up the remaining 800 – 1,000 words of the main article.
2) Start doing some kW research on next articles I want to write and plan for them. This will ideally be about 10 articles.
I’ll have some relatives flying in tomorrow for a visit, so I’ll be spending a good portion of my day with them. I think these two goals will certainly be achievable IF I manage my time wisely!
All for now and till tomorrow,
PS: It’s 11:59 PM, so I just finished this post in time…phew!
